On September 19th we held our Annual General Meeting and AGM at the Weald Woodfair in East Sussex. The SWA is now 21 years old, and Executive Director Judy Walker blew out the candles on a celebration cake.
Speakers included Alan Betts (Forestry Commission South East Director), Robert Matthews (Forest Research - Small woodlands and the carbon balance) and Chris and Joanna Yarrow (Wilderness Wood past, present and future).
After a buffet lunch members dispersed to enjoy the woodfair, the latest of its kind in the UK while some joined the Forestry Commissions Matthew Woodcock on a tour of the machinery area.
