Its another day at the Green Wood Centre. While trying to write the business strategy and action plan for SWA for the next five years, I have met a police constable to make a statement about a theft at the weekend (someone has been stealing logs!) the drains are blocked and need rodding (hopefully I won't have to do that today) the pump for the reed beds has been running continuously for two days, so I have had to find a firm to empty the septic tank.
The Ironbridge Walking Festival is in full swing, and while the Wild Garlic Ramble at the weekend was very successful, (the Wild Garlic pesto in the cafe was lovely), the Dawn Chorus walk on Sunday proved more difficult as we could not find someone to lead the walk who could recognise birdsong. Linda ( from the cafe ) took us for a great walk and we saw lots of birds, but only managed to identify the common birdsong.
We are also developing a bid to the Peoples' Millions lottery fund for a joint project with Telford Primary Care Trust targeting people who have cardiac or other health problems. This would help us to improve a piece of woodland in north Telford for better access and biodiversity.
